Mechan 42: The Explorer

Mechan 42 is a giant metal robot that stands 17' high and holds an immense power source in its hands. It was sent to the far reaches of space to find an alternative power source and after many years, it returned with a glowing space star. This robot, like many others, was created by the Mechan Inc Robot Factory, though we only know this from the markings on the robot itself. Will this new power source be enough to power all of the Mechans? We will soon find out...

Tyler FuQua Creations is a group of creative folks from the Portland, OR area. Led by Tyler FuQua and his co-creator Jason Hutchinson, they create giant whimsical art for the people of planet Earth. They are probably best known for their series of giant robots called the Mechans.

We love science fiction and we love to use our imaginations. We have created a bunch of robots and when the Portland Winter Light Festival reached out to us to create the first ever commissioned art piece, we knew that it had to be a space robot (space was the theme for the festival that year.)
