I'm a marketer by trade but a mathematician at heart. I was raised by an electrical engineer and a math teacher so the maker mindset was instilled in me from an early age. I studied mathematics in college but I chose to pursue marketing as a career – so programming, building, and designing became my hobbies. Ask me about my sodoku and Wordle solving algorithms!

What Inspired You to Make This?

In 2014, I attended Maker Faire Kansas City and saw a drawbot on display that had been built by a maker named Scott Cooper. I didn’t get to talk with Scott but was enamored by the idea of building a machine that could make art. I knew I needed to build a drawbot for myself for two reasons: 1) I wanted the challenge of designing and building the hardware 2) I wanted a platform that I could use to design different image processing algorithms Over the next few months I pulled together the materials I needed and started my build. I always intended to show off my machine at a Maker Faire in one of the many cities I've lived in (Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City) but never had a chance to. Finally, this month I was able to show off my build at Maker Faire Orange County. It was a blast talking to people about my machine and seeing the wonder in kids' eyes as they saw it operate.
