Sailing to the Moon in Search of Water is a game changer for manned and unmanned missions to moon and beyond. Water is a critical substance for life and propellant.. FLEA (Femto Lunar Exploration Apparatus) is a low cost mission to deliver multiple passive seismic sensors on the lunar surface at greater frequency and covering more areas like the poles and far side of the moon. There are 3 main components to this program a Mothership, 4 solar Sails , each carrying a dozen Femto Landers or FLEAs. The Mothership when on orbit will deploy the sails. Traveling to and from the moon the sails will take advantage of the lunar and solar phase. On approach to moon the sail will release the FLEAs to create pattern of on the lunar surface. We will be showing a completely new type of 3D printing process called Computed Axial Lithography (CAL). CAL is a completely layerless 3D printing process, that can form parts in less than a minute. We will be showing off a printer we sent to space on a virgin galactic space plane in June! We also will be demonstrating a printer we designed to fly on a zero gravity plane, as part of our space exploration research of the technology. We will also show our microscale prints, and other exciting projects we work on in the lab. We want to teach people about this new process, and give them resources to explore it on their own.
