Animation Studio for junior makers by SnackNotes

SnackNotes presents “Animation Studio for Junior Makers,” a space where kids can have fun making their own drawings come alive! This exhibit is an activity-focused experience designed for young makers. Kids (and grownups!) can try different ways of making animations. Kids learn how to make basic two-frame animations that they can create anywhere with just a pencil and paper. Kids can also make a multi-frame animation viewable on a spinning zoetrope that can be built at home. These activities come with accompanying educational materials, fun animation examples, and templates. This exhibit is part of a new project called SnackNotes, where Brian (dad of 2 and engineer) shares creative projects that kids and parents can try at home.

The Berkeley Public Library Prototyping Team aims to increase equitable access to tools and broaden participation in STEAM programming.

Low Riders & Culture

Low Riders have been part of the Mexican culture since the 1940s that has developed into a world wide attraction. Car Shows are more than just car shows. At each car show there are cultural dances, art, food, bands, and much more. Chelu Battle On The Bay is Vallejo's largest festival. Mexican culture such as Car Shows, Ballet Folklorico and Dia De Los Muertos are everywhere. Most people do not even know what they are celebrating, we teach them about culture and the holidays. A display of cars and culture (such as the giant dolls, manikin of a Catrina or real Catrinas) will enhance the cars on display. All activities we create are free for the community while also raising over $40,000 dollars that goes back to the children and those in most need in our community.

We were founded at the tail-end the end of the pandemic because I missed the joy of baking for others. At Browned Butter Babe we focus on flavor and bringing a complexity that make our treats not just sweet, but extremely delectable. We offer a variety of treats from classic chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies to more exotic flavors like ube and candy cap mushroom found in some or our blondies, cookies and rice crispy treats.
