Bring a robotic arm along with a desktop to demo to automation testing of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC) software and hardware. Will be bringing some fixtures to show how we put components together and will be also be bringing our first generation devices along with current shipping devices. We may have a hands on activity, putting together fixtures and possibly with the 2-1/2' tall robotic arm. The robot arm will be enclosed and will not pose a risk to children.

More of crafting group than an academic group. Attendees will be able to try this. We could also sell a few small items done in nalbinding and pjoning--not many, as there won't be time to make many things.

Adapting Toys for Kids with Disabilities

Learn how to adapt a mainstream, battery-operated toys by placing a switch cable in parallel with the original switch, allowing the toy to be operated by a variety of alternative switches that could be plugged into the cable. If we have kids younger than 14 who want to participate we will have them build a paper circuit. If the kids are 14 and older they can adapt a toy. We encourage parents or guardians to be present for them to participate.

Central Ohio Gaslands (COG) is a gaming club organization that plays Gaslands, a scratch-built tabletop skirmish game that uses customized Hotwheels/ Matchbox cars set in a post-apocolyptic future. COG will be setting up a large scale game board full of handmade custom terrain pieces depicting a Mad Max style racetrack to show and play on. Also on display will be a ton of custom cars made by our members. COG plans on running a few demo games periodically throughout the day, so come see us and check out our favorite game Gaslands!

Marimba

My son Jon and I created a 4 octave Marimba from padauk and oak wood planks using a benchtop CNC Router at Romich maker space in Creston, OH. Band and circular saws, a drill and a belt sander were also used. Each key was tuned manually using a digital tuner, sand paper and belt sander. The Marimba will be on display to try and video and instructions for building one will be available.
