PRC-Saltillo

Bring a robotic arm along with a desktop to demo to automation testing of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC) software and hardware. Will be bringing some fixtures to show how we put components together and will be also be bringing our first generation devices along with current shipping devices. We may have a hands on activity, putting together fixtures and possibly with the 2-1/2' tall robotic arm. The robot arm will be enclosed and will not pose a risk to children.

We have a fairly decent group of equipment for our members to use. We serve both the experienced woodworker and the beginner. We are a relatively new organization and believe that there is no limit to how we can serve interested woodworkers.

A group of people interested in ancient types of needlework or making fabrics that precedes knitting and crocheting. Nalbinding and pjoning is one type of needlework. More of crafting group than an academic group. Attendees will be able to try this. We could also sell a few small items done in nalbinding and pjoning--not many, as there won't be time to make many things.

It is common to describe the process of photography as "taking" a photo. Curiously photographers think of the process instead as "making pictures." A finished photo is a single instance of commitment to the unique combination of crop, color, exposure, highlights, shadows, sharpening, and luminance that MAKE each finished photo. I'll share with attendees how photographers "make" photos. Samples of my work will be available for people to see and explore, with limited items available for purchase.

Adapting Toys for Kids with Disabilities

Learn how to adapt a mainstream, battery-operated toys by placing a switch cable in parallel with the original switch, allowing the toy to be operated by a variety of alternative switches that could be plugged into the cable. If we have kids younger than 14 who want to participate we will have them build a paper circuit. If the kids are 14 and older they can adapt a toy. We encourage parents or guardians to be present for them to participate.

Central Ohio Gaslands (COG) is a gaming club organization that plays Gaslands, a scratch-built tabletop skirmish game that uses customized Hotwheels/ Matchbox cars set in a post-apocolyptic future. COG will be setting up a large scale game board full of handmade custom terrain pieces depicting a Mad Max style racetrack to show and play on. Also on display will be a ton of custom cars made by our members. COG plans on running a few demo games periodically throughout the day, so come see us and check out our favorite game Gaslands!

My son Jon and I created a 4 octave Marimba from padauk and oak wood planks using a benchtop CNC Router at Romich maker space in Creston, OH. Band and circular saws, a drill and a belt sander were also used. Each key was tuned manually using a digital tuner, sand paper and belt sander. The Marimba will be on display to try and video and instructions for building one will be available.

Zips Racing Electric

Dewald Holiday Lights – LED Lights Sequenced to Music

Dewald Holiday Lights is a holiday light show located in Massillon, OH. The show uses over 2,900 individually addressable LED lights, called pixels, sequenced to music to create an engaging holiday light display. Using an FM transmitter, the show audio can be heard by guests in their cars.

Robotics Demo & Challenge

Trial & Error, Testudines, and Cyber Sloths invite kids of all ages to try building, automating, and driving robots of different sizes. Demonstrations will be offered every hour hour on a variety of topics. Our goal is to help visitors learn more about different robotic programs that help young people explore engineering careers. Treat bags available for the first 200 youth that participate in a Prize Wheel Challenge that tests them on what they learned during our activities.
