The Hazard Response Mission Pack is an on-going open-source AIoT solution designed to efficiently manage and mitigate different hazard scenarios. This compact system combines a range of technologies, including sensor networks and edge computing, to enable effective remote sensing, data transmission, processing, inference, and analysis. In this workshop, participants are invited to collaboratively create innovative, sustainable solutions for hazard response. They will explored various hazard scenarios and identified gaps in current security systems, learn to used AIoT hardware and Node-RED to develop and implement reproducible hazard response solutions. They will also engage in hands-on projects, such as building resilient local warning systems and deploying advanced hazard sensors.

AI Color Chocolate Sorting Machine

The control core of the machine is the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board, which manages the interface between the Husky Lens and the servo motor. This system demonstrates the practical application of computer vision and automation in specific tasks, offering an efficient and precise method for sorting M&Ms by color.

ROB is a Droid with toddler level neural network intelligence. His chat server was built with a python CakeChat neural emotion engine which gives him lots of interesting things to say! R.O.B. runs on OSX and has LiFePO4 80 Ah batteries for hours mobility with the finest BLDC motors that Shenzhen, China has to offer.

VoxHead, a creative commons 3D printed life-sized humanoid robot

This is a demonstration of VoxHead 3.0, a 3D-printed humanoid robot. The robot is for makers and hobbyists to build and to customize themselves. It is meant as a low-cost tool for robotics software developers, and for human-robot speech interaction developers. The robot's plastic parts can be downloaded and 3D printed with FDM (hobby) printers. The other parts are common components - such as servo motors and cameras and electronics - that can be purchased over the internet and delivered the next day. The robot is controlled by a choice of Raspberry Pi 5, or a Jetson [Orin] Nano. This embedded device may then interface with a smart phone, and other computer(s) on the cloud. Spacebar Arcade is a Virtual Reality saloon arcade set in the wild west of cyberspace. You enter this virtual world by way of a real-world 16-foot-tall arcade cabinet. Play on the "outside" using game pads and the giant screen, or don a VR headset to go inside the Spacebar with your friends and family. Inside, one can find a variety of low-gravity games and digital refreshments to enjoy with the other patrons. You might find our ornery A.I. barkeep, Cyberspace Sam. The physical cabinet and the virtual game were both designed and built by creative technologist (and lifelong maker), Sam Mateosian, in his San Carlos garage studio with the assistance of his two daughters, various friends, and helpful neighbors. It was first exhibited at the Augmented World Expo Playground in June 2024.
