TriLeene

TriLeene is a collaboration between Elien the Pearl Peacock and Grizz the Trimule—the perfect combination of brilliant programable LED tail feathers on a nimble three-wheel base with comfy seating for three. The vehicle chassis is constructed from 1-1/2" and 2" tubular frames. It is powered by a 10 hp Tecumseh TVXL220 motor with Zt3100 hydrostatic transmissions driving the front axle. A third swivel caster behind the front axle provides maneuverability and stability.

Golden Gate Marvel: A Playful Architecture

A 9-year-old architecture enthusiast, Sri, constructed a model of the Golden Gate Bridge using marshmallows, toothpicks, wool, and magnets. After researching the bridge's history and engineering challenges, such as the initial cantilever design and thermal expansion solutions, She applied creativity to build a miniature version. This hands-on activity not only fostered an understanding of engineering concepts but also provided a playful exploration of architectural design, resulting in an imaginative and educational representation of the Golden Gate Bridge. Join Sri in this creative project, where all materials, including marshmallows, toothpicks, and wool, will be provided to build your own Golden Gate Bridge.

The Social Networking Project The Social Networking Project comprises glass sculpture pieces created through live demonstrations, fostering community collaboration and genuine connections. Using flameworking techniques with borosilicate rods, I initiate the process by establishing a robust base structure. Precut glass rods of various sizes and lengths are made available to the audience, passersby, or onlookers who can sign a safety waiver and choose a piece. Donning safety glasses, participants position their rods on the structure wherever they please. I then skillfully weld the glass rods to the base, with each person contributing in about three minutes. Come try out our sample games, add your own features like bumpers, ramps, lights and sounds, or go head-to-head with a friend in 2-player mode. Take home plans to make your own pinball machine from common hardware. This is a great starter project for Makers in and out of the classroom: laser-cut the plywood playfield; use shop tools to cut lumber and assemble the base; 3D print your own set of flippers and buttons; design and fabricate any number of creative obstacles, features and decorations; express yourself through the theme for your machine; collaborate with others for 2-player mode.

The Shrine celebrates traditions, storytelling, comedy, and narratives on the cycle of death, embodying survivorship. The piece is meant to encourage, to venture within, relishing in the fortitude of what embodies the will to survive from birth to death. Originally built with 4 steel “legs” that lifted the artwork up 25’ into the sky, the Shrine is now an opportunity for public interaction. Their vocals fly together like a tight triangle of birds overhead, agilely changing directions when needed. The group met while touring as other bands in the Biketopia Music collective, a group of feminist environmental activists and musicians with bike generators who biked from Canada to San Francisco in 2016 and 2018 putting on free human powered concerts. This group's unique mix of whimsical vocals and tight groove invokes a presence that goes straight to the heart.
